    About our Mediterranean news

Latest news on the Mediterranean, a region that encompasses the lands and seas around the Mediterranean Sea, an inland sea that connects Europe, Africa and Asia. The Mediterranean region has a long and rich history of cultural, economic, and political interactions among diverse peoples and civilizations, such as the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Arabs, Turks, and Europeans.

The Mediterranean region is divided into several subregions, such as the Adriatic Sea, the Aegean Sea, the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Ionian Sea, and the Ligurian Sea. Some of the largest islands in the Mediterranean are Majorca, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Crete, Cyprus, and Rhodes. Some of the major rivers that flow into the Mediterranean are the Rhône, the Po, and the Nile. The Mediterranean Sea is connected to the Atlantic Ocean by the Strait of Gibraltar in the west, to the Black Sea by the Sea of Marmara, the Dardanelles, and the Bosporus in the northeast, and to the Red Sea by the Suez Canal in the southeast.
